Richard Abbott - Director

Richard has been building for over 10 years. He started off his apprenticeship building large high quality homes that had a lot of intricate finishing detail which gave him the opportunity to learn the skills to competently complete jobs to a high standard. Once he had completed his apprenticeship, Richard then contracted to the same company for a further couple of years, further mastering the skills to produce high quality work. He then went out on his own working as a sole trader for a few more years.

In 2008 Richard founded Building Lifestyle NZ Ltd, taking on a team of builders to work alongside him.

Along with being a qualified builder Richard is a member of the Registered Master Builders Association and he is also a licensed builder.  Richard likes working with people who are passionate of what they want to achieve and sees it as his personal challenge to help them realise these dreams. Richard has launched on his own range of house designs to offer to clients as an option for those clients looking to build their own homes.

Richard is involved with volunteer work. In the past building two homes in Fiji for two families that had lost their homes in a cyclone. His dream is to be able to take teams of builders from Building Lifestyle NZ over to build houses for the less fortunate on a yearly basis.

When not working Richards passion is riding his motocross bike and spending time with his young family.
